    2.2.1. List of countries whose nationals do not need a visa to enter France for a short stay
       
    2.2.2. Transit
       
  There are two kinds of transit visa depending on how long you wish to stay in France.
       
    2.2.2.1. Airport Transit Visa (VTA): The time it takes to make a flight connection to a destination outside the Schengen area without leaving the airport's international zone.
       
    2.2.2.2. Transit Visa B (VTB): A stop over of a maximum of five days on your way to a destination outside the Schengen area.
       
     
  2.2.3. Short stay (less than 3 months)
       
    You are not a Canadian citizen but you are a permanent resident in Canada
       
    You are not a Canadian citizen but you are a temporary resident of Canada (student or work authorization)
       
   

Special regulation for persons married to an European Union citizen (including to a French citizen)

     
     
  2.2.4. Long stay (more than 3 months)
       
    2.2.4.1. To study in France :
       
      For a stay in France more than 3 months and less than 6 months
         
      For a stay longer than 6 months
         
      To go as an "Au Pair"
         
      Minors under 18
