Payment
for visa processing fees must be done in Canadian dollars using
one method of payment for the full current amount. You may pay either
in cash, with debit or credit card.
Personal cheques are not accepted.
Periodically the fluctuation of the exchange rate between the Canadian
dollar and the Euro cause the fees to change unexpectedly thus rendering
payment by money order highly inconvenient. If your application
is approved, the visa cannot be issued without exact payment. For
this reason, since June 2000, the Consulate General of France in
Vancouver accepts payment by credit card (Visa and MasterCard) and
debit card (Interac).
When applying by mail, the most convenient way to pay the visa processing
fee is by credit card. All you have to do is
download and fill out this debit authorization form and include
it with the rest of your application. If by the time we issue your
visa the fee has changed, we just modify it and issue you a receipt.
When applying in person you can either pay the exact amount in cash
(no change available or kept), with Visa or Mastercard or with an
Interac debit card. Personal
cheques are not accepted.
