| French visa regulations
indicate that all applicants must apply in person at the Consulate
that has jurisdiction in
their area of residence.
The French Consulate in Vancouver covers
British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon and the North West territories.
Application by mail may be granted on a case per case basis for
applicants
who live too far away and for whom a trip to the consulate would
be too costly. You may send your application by mail only if
you live outside Greater Vancouver.
Greater Vancouver covers the municipalities of Aldergrove, Beach
Grove, Bowen Island, Burnaby, Cloverdale, Coquitlam, Fort Langley,
Haney, Ladner, Langley,
Maple Ridge, New Westminster, Newton, North Delta, North Vancouver, Pitt Meadows,
Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Richmond, South Delta, Surrey, Vancouver, including
UBC, West Vancouver, White Rock and Whonnock.However, once we receive your
application or once we receive authorization to issue the visa,
we reserve the right to ask
you to come to the consulate for a personal interview.
If you qualify to apply
by mail, you must send :
1) Your complete application including the photocopies
as requested on the list.
2) A letter-sized, pre-paid, self-addressed Xpresspost or Priority
Courier envelope so that we can return the original documents
you submitted with your application. You may use the courier service
of your choice on condition that you include their letter-sized
envelope and the pre-filled waybill (addressed to yourself). Do
not sign it, the French Consulate's visa section will be the sender.
Keep a copy for your records.
3) Payment for the visa processing fee: current
visa processing fees procedure for payment.
Do not fax any documents to the French Consulate, unless requested
to. Incomplete applications cannot be processed. The package will
be returned by courier service at your own expense.
