Short Stay in French Overseas Territories for Canadian Citizens

The information provided applies only to Canadian Citizens

Procedure

Canadian citizens wishing to visit a French Overseas Territory (French Polynesia, New Caledonia, and Wallis and Futuna) for a total stay of less than 30 days, do not need a visa.

For a stay longer than 30 days, you need to apply for a short stay visa. It will allow you to stay up to 90 days and has a maximum validity of 6 months.

If you need to stay more than 90 days, it is no longer considered a short stay and therefore you must apply for a long stay visa. Contact the visa department for further information: visas@consulfrance-vancouver.org
