Long stay visa for canadien citizen.

Canadian citizens need a visa to stay in Monaco for a period of more than 3 months.

Procedure

The visa application is processed by the French consulate upon reception of the required documents.

After your application has been approved, the visa officer will call you. You should then send (or bring) an insurance certificate fully covering the student for medical expenses and third-party civil liability (which is usually included in your comprehensive home/business insurance), the original of the passport and the visa application fee.

Documents required

3 photocopies of the first pages of your passport. Its validity should be of at least one year after the date of arrival in Monaco.

A letter of acceptance (original and photocopy) from the school, university ("certificat de pré-inscription") or from the language institution ("certificat d'inscription définitif") stating that you are registered to follow their courses. It must indicate the dates of duration of the course. If it is a private school or institution, proof of total or partial payment or scholarship, have to be submitted.

7 application forms fully and clearly completed and signed, each one with a recent photograph cut to the size indicated in the form and glued to it.

A form called "Supplementary information for long term visa" .

another one called "Attestation sur l'honneur" completed and signed.

A certificate called "Canadian Police Certificate for Visa Applications / Foreign travel / Foreign Work Permits" which can be obtained at the RCMP detachment of your place of residence.

A lease contract or a promise of lease or a written undertaking stating that you will provide Monaco authorities with a proof of accommodation within two months of your arrival to the Principality.

Financial guarantee. Documents proving that you have sufficient means to live and study in Monaco without working (i.e. a letter from your bank stating that you possess at least CAN $800.00 per month of stay.
