The scientific attaché is in charge of the scientific cooperation between France and Western Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Yukon and North-West Territories).

Therefore he monitors scientific and technological development in order to be aware of the researchs in progress and the latest discoveries in the university laboratories, research institutes and leading industries.

The bimonthly science and technology newsletter (in french) spreads the results of this monitoring through the French scientific community.

The role of the scientific attaché is also to start new projects of scientific cooperation between France and Canada : joint researchs, graduate student exchanges, international lectures.

In order to make the launching of these projects easier, the scientific attaché offers invitations to France and Canada to experienced researchers, as well as scholarships for Ph.Ds and Ph.Ds-to-be to do research in France.

A summary of French-Canadian exchanges and scientific opportunities (researcher invitations, scholarships, employment, training, advanced level scientific stays) is available on the website of the Embassy's Scientific Department, the Hyperlab.

For further information or if you want to spread scientific information about a piece of research you are carrying out, please contact the Scientific Attaché.
