Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur

The Mediterranean coast, the countryside of Provence, towns filled with art and history, the southern Alps and the large areas of natural beauty... all go to make up the many sides of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
This region is unique and provide a festival of colors: the white of the cliffs in the world famous Calanques and of the snowy peaks of the Southern Alps, the blues waters of the Mediterranean sea, the green of the pines... Its landscapes bathed in light, where color reigns, have made the region a cherished place for painters and writers to exercise their crafts: Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cézanne, Pagnol, Giono...

This region is well-known for the Côte d'Azur, the French riviera and its famous sea resorts such as Saint-Tropez, Cannes or Nice.... maybe a busy place during the summer but it's not a coincidence with regard to the spectacular beauty of this unique coast. And if you are fed up with the crowd of the riviera, just drive in the backcountry and discover the charm of the lavander fields, the oak forests and the villages set high up on the foothills of the Alps. Don't expect to get bored under the sun of this region thanks to a variety of sports you can practice and a number of historic and cultural jewels you should visit.

The babbling of fountains in the shade of plane trees, the scent of lavender, bouillabaisse on the menu. the way of life in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur is based on traditions. They can be tasted in its food and wine, they can be admired in its crafts and they can be enjoyed in the fields of lavender or at Christmastime.

An amalgam of civilizations, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur is a magnificent place of discovery. Its many sites, monuments and museums and the artists it has inspired recreate a facet of its rich past at all times.
