Limousin can be proud of its privileged position at a
cross-roads in the heart of France. This region is at the
threshold where north meets south; a cultural bridge between
the ancient languages of Oc and Oil. Its human-scale towns,
preserved from the scars of modernity, are full of history
and express a sense of eternity.
300 Kms from Toulouse and Nantes, 400 kms from Paris and Lyon.. no
pun intended that Limousin is at the cross-roads of France. So stay
there, and go visiting around: it's not few hundred of kilometers
that will frighten Canadian!!! |

Limousin has much in common with its more popular neighbours
in South West France but with one important difference:
it is a land largely undiscovered but increasingly appreciated
by those who love the timeless, unchanging heart of rural
France. Don't expect a tremendous activity even during
the summer. Limousin is not a very touristic region especially
compared to South East of France for example. But this
is where is its advantage: real holidays, real relaxing.
Go hiking in the numerous green trails, visit Limoges,
a city acclaimed around the world for the beauty of their
fine porcelain and enamels and don't forget to taste the
products of the local gastronomy! |
| Limousin has a special blend
of scenic beauty, outdoor activities, fascinating history,
architecture and traditional cuisine but with a richness
to its culture that is unique. So this year, let the tranquillity,
the beauty and the endless wealth of sights entice you
a little further south. Discover Limousin! |
