French musician Sakina Abdou at Vancouver’s Coastal Jazz (June 27-29)
With the support of our cultural services, France’s saxophonist and flutist Sakina Abdou will perform at the 2024 Coastal Jazz festival in June. She is also one of the artists in residence at the invitation of the festival.

Mr Gino LeBlanc from SFU elevated to the Ordre des Palmes Académiques
On November 1, Gino LeBlanc, Director of Vancouver’s Simon Fraser University’s Office of Francophone and Francophile Affairs, was presented with the insigna of Knight of the Ordre des Palmes Académiques by Consul General Nicolas Baudouin, in recognition of his exceptional commitment to Canada’s Francophone and Acadian communities.
